From the Principal
Fruitport High School is nestled in the village of Fruitport, which is 15-20 minutes from the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan.
We believe that Fruitport High School offers students the opportunity for a unique educational experience. Fruitport High School services on average 850 students. Our school is small enough to ensure that hometown feel but also just big enough to offer students a diverse learning experience. Fruitport High School maintains a constant focus on academic achievement. We offer a variety of fine arts, honors, and advanced placement courses, and extensive community service opportunities through our Student Council and National Honor Society organizations. These courses combined with opportunities to enroll in dual enrollment courses through local colleges or one to two-year placements at the Muskegon Career Technical Center create rich educational opportunities for students at every level.
Fruitport High School is centered on the student. Beginning in the 2016-2017 school year, the high school will embark on a one-to-one technology focus. All students will be issued Google Chromebooks to enhance the learning experience. Extensive work has been done behind the scenes to ensure that there is wireless access throughout the entire building. The high school staff will spend the 2015-16 school year engaged in extensive training to learn how to effectively use this new technology to enhance the curriculum.
The Fruitport High School is proud of the multiple student accomplishments in the areas of academic, extracurricular, and athletic achievements. Fruitport Trojan pride is found in student productions, including community musicals and our award-winning literary Escape magazine. Many students compete at the state level in quiz bowl, in our DECA and BPA business clubs, First Robotics club, along with numerous athletic accolades. Students can also choose to be involved through various clubs including Spanish, math, Imagery, dance, and theater.
We encourage you to visit Fruitport High School to let our school speak for itself. Please call me at any time to discuss your child’s academic future.
