Early Childhood Center
Early Childhood Programs at Fruitport Community Schools offer families of young children many opportunities for care, growth, and learning. Our programs ensure a safe and secure environment that promote each child’s individual development.
We are proud to offer child care for children ages six weeks to five years old, before/after school care for elementary children, and Summer Fun Camp for children who have attended elementary school . In addition, three and four-year-olds have the opportunity to attend Child’s World Tuition Preschool, Head Start, or Great Start Readiness preschool programs.

Child's World Preschool
What is it:
Tuition-Based Preschool Program
Qualifications:
Children age 3 or 4 by September 1, 2024
Cost:
3-day classes - $270 per quarter
2-day classes - $225 per quarter

Early Childhood Center Child Care
What is it:
Childcare for young children offering well-planned environments that support children's health and safety while fostering learning through play. The staff is comprised of caring and nurturing people whose goal is your child's well-being and happiness.

Qualifications:
Ages 6 weeks through 5 years old
Preschool-aged children must be potty trained.

Location:
Early Childhood Center inside the Fruitport Middle School.
Session Times:
Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm. Care is also available on snow days, school breaks, and during the summer.

Great Start Readiness Program Preschool
What is it:
Great Start Readiness is a state-funded preschool program for children who are 4 years old. This high-quality program encourages the development of children to prepare them for successful entry into Kindergarten using developmentally appropriate practices.
Qualifications:
Priority is given to families who reside in the Fruitport Community Schools or Mona Shores Public School Districts. Children must be 4 years old by December 1 of the current school year with priority given to children with birthdays on or before September 1.
Cost: Free
Location:
Shettler Elementary and Beach Elementary in the Fruitport Community Schools District.
Ross Park Elementary in the Mona Shores School District.
Session Times:
Full-day sessions (8:15 - 3:45) Monday through Thursday each week. Times may vary slightly each year.
Meals:
A nutritious breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack are provided.
Transportation:
Transportation is not provided.
GSRP APPLICATIONS
To apply for GSRP please complete this form and someone from the enrollment office will contact you to begin enrollment.
The following documents are needed to COMPLETE your child's application.
- Child's Birth Certificate (Proof of Age - Child’s birth certificate, affidavit of parentage, or hospital birth record)
- Proof of 2023 Household Income (1040 or w2s preferred) If you receive food stamps, the only proof needed is proof of your SNAP benefits. If anyone received ANY unemployment benefits in 2023, an end-of-the-year statement must be turned in, as well as W2(s) or 1040.
- Child's Medical Insurance Card
- Proof of residency (current utility bill if living in Fruitport/Mona Shores districts only)
- Up-to-date immunization record

Head Start Preschool
What is It:
Head Start is a federally funded preschool program for low-income families with children ages 3 and 4. We partner with parents to help ensure their children's basic needs are met so they have the freedom to learn, interact with peers, and grow intellectually.
Qualifications:
Families must meet income eligibility requirements. Keep in mind that eligibility does not ensure placement into the program. Priority is given to families who reside in the Fruitport Community Schools or Mona Shores Public School Districts. Children must be 3 or 4 years old by December 1 of the current school year with priority given to children with birthdays on or before September 1.

School Aged Care (SAC)
What is it:

Summer Fun Camp
What is it:
Summer childcare program offering two weekly field trips, weekly STEM & literacy activities, and arts & crafts. All are supervised by experienced and caring staff. We help bridge the summer recess learning gap.
