The Physical Education Department will provide a variety of ways for students to improve and find value in personal lifelong fitness. Students will be given an opportunity to develop their potential in fundamental skills of organized, individual and team sports and to provide activities that will encourage physical well-being; student responsibility; self-discipline and motivation; respect for self and others; sportsmanship and cooperation.

Course Description:
Students will be given an opportunity to improve fitness through organized team activities. Students will compete as team members in a tournament format. The following activities will be included: soccer, football, badminton, softball, volleyball, basketball, pickle ball, indoor soccer, and other indoor/outdoor games. May be repeated for credit.

Course Description:
(Advanced Weight Training) is a personal fitness class that emphasizes athletic weight training and more thorough conditioning programs. This course is designed for a student wanting to improve their overall agility, cardiovascular endurance, quickness, balance, strength, injury prevention, and fitness. Exercises will be HIGH INTENSITY functional movements, including (but not limited to) on-court running, sprinting, lateral movement, medicine ball exercises, and weight lifting. Heavier weights, Olympic lifts, speed school and power routines will be used in the weight room. Plyometrics, aerobics agility, quickness and speed drills will be used to develop a core fitness program.

Course Description:
This course is designed for the student who wants to participate in a less competitive environment while engaging in lifetime sports and activities. Students will learn the rules, skills, and strategies in a variety of team and dual sport activities. In addition, students are provided an opportunity to interact in cooperative learning situations and to develop socialization skills. Activities include, but are not limited to: Badminton, Kan Jam, Corn Hole, Eclipse Ball, Ladderball, PickleBall, Spikeball, Volleyball, Wiffle Ball and others.
