Welcome back to another exciting year at Shettler School. We are ready for the 2010-2011 year and have a pace for you. The parking lot  and the schools sign are the major improvement for looks but especially safety. Staff changes have occurred also; Mrs. Brown and Ms. Bayle will be teaching first grade, Mr. Taylor will be teaching second. We have a new speech teacher, Ms. Joesel, and a new social worker, Mrs. McVoy. Mrs. Clendenon will be the long term substitute for Ms. Rockafellow as she undergoes medical treatments.

Another major improvement is the walking track behind the school. It was put in with funds from PTC and the help from a generous donor. Our hope is to have it used by the community to stay healthy and safe, as there are no sidewalks in our area.  Students will make use of it in gym class, recess, and Girls on the Run as well as other occasions.  We will have our first annual Walk-a-Thon on Sept. 30. Students will be collecting donations for the walk. This will take the place of our fall fund raiser selling items from a brochure. Students will take turns walking continuously from 8:30-3:30 on that day. Parents and community are invited to walk with us or just come to cheer us on.
