Physical Education Open to: 9-12 Credits: .5 Duration: One Term
General Physical Education 1- General Physical Education: Basic instruction will be given on the fundamentals of team and individual sports, physical fitness; beneficial effects of activity; weight control; aerobic/anaerobic capacity; and strength, power, endurance, and flexibility. All students are required to wear a staff approved gym uniform. May be repeated for credit.

Aerobics, Weight Training and Body Toning-Prerequisite: Completion of General P.E. Requirement Course Objectives: The students will learn the importance of lifelong health and wellness by partic-ipating in aerobic and weight training activities. This combination of aerobic conditioning and weight training is an effective way to obtain a toned and healthy body. May be repeated for credit.

Strength and Speed- Prerequisite: Completion of General Physical Education requirement. Strength and Speed is a class designed for the serious student/athlete that wants to become more competitive through advanced weight lifting and agility training. The class will use the Bigger, Faster, Stronger weightlifting program, in which the main focus is on core lifting and plyometrics workouts. May be repeated for credit. Team Games For Fitness- Prerequisite: Completion of General Physical Education requirement. Students will be given an opportunity to improve fitness through organized team activities. Students will compete as team members in a unique tournament format. The following activities will be included: soccer, football, badminton, softball, volleyball, basketball, pickle ball, indoor soccer, and other indoor/outdoor games. May be repeated for credit.
