Spanish I- Students learn to communicate in everyday situations. They learn the grammar structures and vocabulary that are needed for communication. The culture, contributions and geography of Spanish speaking countries are also studied. Open to: 10-12 Credits: 1 Duration: Two Terms
Spanish II- Prerequisite: Spanish I (C or better). Students increase their ability to communicate in Spanish with the continuing study of grammar constructions and vocabulary. Students are encouraged to communicate whenever possible in Spanish. The study of Hispanic countries and culture is continued. A two- or three-year sequence is recommended for college-bound students. Open to: 11-12 Credits: 1 Duration: Two Terms
Spanish III- Prerequisite: Spanish II (C or better). Students continue to expand their skills in all four areas of communication: Listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students communicate as much as possible in Spanish. Hispanic culture and history are studied. Open to: 12 Credits: 1 Duration: Two Terms
Spanish IV- Prerequisite: Spanish III (C or better). Students continue to expand their skills in all four areas of communication: Listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Spanish is spoken the majority of class time. Hispanic culture is studied, with an emphasis on Latin American and Spanish literature, art, history, and current events.

French I- Students of French I will learn to communicate in French in a variety of practical situations through vocabulary and structural skills acquisition. The cultures of various French-speaking countries will also be explored. Open to: 10-12 Credits: 1 Duration: Two Terms
French II- Prerequisite: French I (C or better). Students of French II will continue their study of the language and culture as vocabulary and grammar become more specific. A two- or three-year sequence of foreign language study is recommended for college bound students. Open to: 11-12 Credits: 1 Duration: Two Terms
French III- Prerequisite: French II (C or better). Students of French III continue adding their vocabulary and structural knowledge through increased speaking, reading, and writing. Cultures continue to be presented through a variety of materials. Open to: 12 Credits: 1 Duration: Two Terms
French IV- Prerequisite: French III (C or better). Students of French IV will practice their language skills through reading, writing, and speaking. Cassette and video programs as well as a more intense exposure to francophone cultures will enhance this practice. F.A.E
