The purpose of Business Professionals of America is to prepare students for the business workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills. By integrating its programs into the business classroom, Business Professionals of America builds leadership, professionalism, poise, dependability, patriotism, and competency into business students.

Students participate in competitive events at the regional, state, and national levels in their areas of strength.  They choose from over 50 different events in the business field including Financial Services, Administrative Support, Information Technology, and Management/Marketing/Human Resources.

In 2002-2003, Shannon Pace competed at the national level in Dallas, Texas.  She was the first FHS student to compete at this level. Shannon's event was Economic Research.

In May 2004, Josh Knapp won third place at state which enabled him the chance to compete at nationals in Cincinnati, OH. Josh's event was Information Technology Concepts.

In January 2006, ten students placed at regionals, and in March they traveled to Grand Rapids for the state competition.

In March 2006, Josh Lorenz won second place at state, which enabled him the chance to compete at nationals in Orlando, Florida in May.  Josh's event was DataBase Management.

We look forward to a great year. This year's National Leadership Conference will be held in May 9-13 in New York, NY.  Marissa Bo and Dan Sleeman won at regionals and state conferences and will attend the National Leadership Conference.
