Community Forum Planned
by Facilities Study Committee

For the past several months, an incredibly dedicated group of parents, community members, and staff have been studying our district’s facilities and the needs that exist.   Supported by our Strategic Plan (F.C.S. II), the group’s mission is to identify facility and technology needs, look at all possible options to address identified needs, and provide a recommendation to the Board of Education at their November meeting.  The group has toured facilities, studied student and technology needs, as well as economic conditions.  The end result of this group’s work will be the development of a vision for our district’s facilities.

On Saturday, November 8 from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m., the Facilities Study Committee will host a Community Forum to review their work, discuss their vision for the district’s facilities and technology needs, and share the recommendation they are preparing to provide the Board of Education at their meeting on November 24.  The vision is being planned in phases and will illustrate a systematic approach to addressing aging facilities and technology throughout the district.

Please join us in thanking committee members for their time and talents and make plans to join us Saturday, November 8th, at the Fruitport Middle School Auditorium.

All presentations, discussions, and meeting minutes can be followed by visiting our Facilities Study Committee blog at http://blogs.fruitportschools.net/nceglarek/.

National Mix It Up Day

On Thursday, November 13, your student(s) will be asked to participate in National Mix It Up Day. Mix It Up Day is promoted by Teaching Tolerance and is intended to support acceptance and friendship among students.

In recognition of this event, students will be invited to sit at different lunch tables. This is meant to acquaint them with other students in the building and promote friendships between the different grade levels.

Thank you for supporting your children and our Mix It Up activity. For more information, go to www.teachingtolerance.org.
