HEAD START

(For Fruitport and Mona Shores children)

Head Start is a free preschool program sponsored by funds from the Federal Department of Health & Human Services. The goal of Head Start is to increase school readiness of young children in low income families.

Qualifications:
Students must reside in Fruitport or Mona Shores School Districts and be age 3 or 4 by October1 of the current school year. Families must meet income eligilibility requirements.

Location:
Classrooms are located at Edgewood Elementary in the Fruitport District. Mona Shores students attend Ross Park Elementary.

Class sessions:
Morning or afternoon classes are in session Monday through Thursday each week.

Meals:
Nutritious meals are provided.

Transportation:
Transportation is provided for our Fruitport Edgewood site. Due to Federal budget cuts, transportation will NOT be available at our Mona Shores Ross Park site.
