HEAD START

(For Fruitport and Mona Shores children)

Head Start is a free preschool program sponsored by funds from the Federal Department of Health & Human Services. The goal of Headstart is to increase school readiness of young children in low income families.

Qualifications:
Students must reside in Fruitport or Mona Shores School Districts and be age 3 or 4 by December 1 of the current school year. Families must meet income eligilibility requirements.

Location:
Classrooms are located in Edgewood and Beach Elementary Schools in the Fruitport District. Mona Shores students also attend at one of these locations.

Class sessions:
Morning or afternoon classes are in session Monday through Thursday each week.

Meals:
Nutritious meals are provided.

Transportation:
Transportation is provided.

Head Start enrollment begins in March  for the following school year.   You may call the Early Childhood Center for more enrollment information.
